Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our garage door services.

Emergency & Scheduling

What qualifies as an emergency garage door repair?

Emergency garage door repairs are needed when a malfunction creates a safety hazard, significantly disrupts your daily routine, or compromises your property's security. These issues can include the door being unseated, stuck open or closed, broken springs, snapped cables, and more. We offer 24/7 emergency dispatch for these situations.

How quickly can you get to my home?

For emergency calls, we aim to arrive within 1–2 hours. For standard service appointments, we offer same day service if you call before 2 PM. We always provide a specific arrival window so you're not waiting around.

Do you charge extra for evenings and weekends?

No. Our pricing is the same whether you call at 8 AM on a Monday or 9 PM on a Saturday. We never charge extra for after-hours or weekend service.

What areas do you serve?

We serve the entire San Francisco Bay Area including San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Hayward, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, San Leandro, Richmond, Antioch, Daly City, San Mateo, and surrounding communities.

Repairs & Service

Can I repair my garage door myself?

We strongly advise against DIY garage door repairs, especially spring and cable work. Garage door springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury or death if handled improperly. Safe DIY tasks include lubrication, weatherseal replacement, and sensor cleaning. For everything else, call a licensed professional.

How do I know if my springs need replacing?

Common signs include: the door won't open or feels extremely heavy, you heard a loud bang from the garage, the door opens unevenly, visible gaps or rust in the spring coils, or the door slams shut too fast. If your springs are over 7–10 years old, they're nearing end of life.

What's included in a maintenance tune-up?

Our tune-up includes: full system inspection, spring balance testing, lubrication of all moving parts, safety sensor alignment and testing, hardware tightening, track alignment, weatherseal inspection, and a written report of any issues found.

Do you repair all brands of garage doors and openers?

Yes. We service and repair all major brands including LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, and more.

New Doors & Installation

How long does a garage door installation take?

A standard garage door installation typically takes 4–6 hours. This includes removing the old door, installing the new door, tracks, springs, and opener, and testing everything for proper operation.

What type of garage door is best for my home?

For most Bay Area homes, we recommend insulated steel doors — they offer the best combination of durability, low maintenance, energy efficiency, and style options. For homes with specific architectural styles, wood or carriage house doors may be a better fit. We offer free consultations to help you choose.

Do new garage doors come with a warranty?

Yes. All new doors come with manufacturer warranties (typically 10–15 years on panels, lifetime on hardware). We also provide our own 90-day labor warranty on the installation.

Warranties & Guarantees

Do you offer warranties on your work?

Yes. Every repair is backed by our 90-day parts and labor warranty. If something goes wrong with the work we did, we come back and fix it free of charge.

Are your technicians licensed and insured?

Absolutely. All our technicians are fully licensed, bonded, insured, and background-checked. We meet all California contractor requirements.

What if I'm not satisfied with the work?

We have a satisfaction guarantee. If you're not happy with our work, we'll come back and make it right at no additional cost.
